Privacy Policy
This policy explains how RestoCliq collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information in plain language. References to Canadian privacy and anti-spam requirements describe the rules considered for this notice; they do not replace review of the applicable facts, vendors, and agreements.
1. Who we are
RestoCliq ("RestoCliq", "we", "us") provides digital loyalty and reward cards that live in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, along with related marketing services, for restaurants and cafés. We operate this website (restocliq.com) and serve merchant clients primarily in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada.
Questions about this policy or your personal information can be sent to Info@restocliq.com.
2. Information we collect
a. Information you give us on this website
- Lead and contact form details — when you fill out a form, request a call, or book a demo, we collect the details you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, restaurant or business name, and anything you write in a message field.
- Booking and communication records — if you book a demo or contact us by email or phone, we keep a record of that correspondence.
b. Loyalty card data we process for merchant clients
When a restaurant uses RestoCliq to run its loyalty program, we process information about that restaurant's customers on behalf of the merchant. Depending on how the merchant configures its program, this can include:
- The customer's name, phone number, and/or email address provided when claiming a card;
- Loyalty activity — stamps, points, visits, purchases, and rewards earned or redeemed;
- Wallet card status, such as whether the card was installed in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, and push notification delivery status.
For this data, the merchant (the restaurant you joined the program with) is the organization responsible for the personal information, and RestoCliq acts as its service provider. If you are a loyalty program member, you can direct requests to the merchant or to us — we will assist either way.
c. Technical information
- Standard server logs and analytics-type data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring page, used to keep the site working and secure;
- Our forms may be protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiries, demo requests, and lead form submissions;
- To provide, set up, and support loyalty card programs for merchant clients, including issuing wallet cards, tracking loyalty activity, and sending program communications the merchant has configured;
- To send commercial electronic messages (email or SMS) where we have your consent or another lawful basis under CASL — every marketing message includes a working unsubscribe mechanism;
- To operate, secure, and improve our website and services;
- To meet legal, accounting, and regulatory requirements.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use loyalty program data for any purpose other than delivering the service to the merchant whose program you joined.
4. Consent
We collect, use, and disclose personal information with consent, as required by PIPEDA. When you select the contact-consent checkbox and submit a form, you agree that RestoCliq may contact you by email or SMS about that request. You may withdraw that consent at any time. Joining a merchant's loyalty program is a separate consent for the program operation and communications described at signup.
Under CASL, we only send commercial electronic messages with express or implied consent. You can withdraw consent at any time — use the unsubscribe link in any email, reply STOP to any SMS, or email Info@restocliq.com. Unsubscribe requests are honoured promptly and no later than 10 business days.
5. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us deliver the service:
- Digital wallet platform provider — the underlying platform that powers card issuance, wallet passes, and loyalty tracking processes loyalty program data on our behalf;
- CRM and communications platform — form submissions, bookings, and messages are processed through our customer relationship and messaging systems;
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — for the website and related services;
- Apple and Google — installing a card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet involves those companies' services under their own privacy policies.
These providers may store or process data outside Canada (for example, in the United States). Where personal information is processed outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. We use contractual and other safeguards to require comparable protection.
We may also disclose information where required by law, or as part of a business transaction such as a merger or sale, subject to appropriate protections.
6. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above:
- Lead and inquiry records are kept while we have an active conversation or business relationship with you, and for a reasonable period afterwards;
- Loyalty program data is kept for as long as the merchant's program (and your card) is active, and is deleted or anonymized after the merchant relationship or your card ends, subject to legal retention requirements;
- Records we must keep by law (for example, financial records) are retained for the legally required period.
7. Safeguards
We protect personal information with safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls limiting who can view customer data, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will respond to any breach as required by PIPEDA's breach notification rules.
8. Your rights: access, correction, and deletion
You may ask us, at any time, to:
- Confirm what personal information we hold about you and how it has been used or disclosed;
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Delete your information or withdraw your consent (subject to legal or contractual restrictions — we will explain any consequences of withdrawal).
Send requests to Info@restocliq.com. We respond to access requests within 30 days as required by PIPEDA. If your request concerns a merchant's loyalty program, we may coordinate with that merchant to fulfil it.
9. Children
Our website and services are directed at business owners and adult consumers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.
